Sing & Speak Cantonese is a Song based Learning Programme designed for children to practice vocabulary & conversation through Cantonese songs.. Each lesson we will learn and sing songs that based on a theme - weather, food, emotion, colour, animals and more, all relating to our daily lives. We will then practice the extracted vocabulary and sentence structure through group games. I also incorporate stories in the sessions to enhance children's interest. Let's make learning Cantonese fun and memorable!

Our songs are mainly written in Spoken Cantonese, similar to how we speak daily, with around 30% in Written Chinese to help children to read. The words that are chosen in the songs are based on the high frequency words list in Sage Basic Chinese 500.

Simple Cantonese Songs & Rhymes:
A set of music curricula that is based on Kodaly approach in Cantonese with some modern twists (jazz, blues, pop, etc.). Through singing and games children will learn musical skills such as pulse, rhythm, pitch and basic music reading. Our approach is to give younger children a musical experience, then we will make the learning conscious through the introduction of rhythm and singing names (do re mi).

Active Listening:
Active listening is a musical appreciation activity that has the children listening to classical music and encourages body actions. Children will grasp the structure, phrasing, speed and the pulse in a variety of traditional Western compositions, using their bodies to feel and enjoy music!
